Wykes, v\u00fdkonn\u00fd \u0159editel spole\u010dnosti Crowther Ltd z Thurmastonu v Leicesteru, kter\u00e1 se zab\u00fdvala v\u00fdrobou textiln\u00edch stroj\u016f, nav\u0161t\u00edvil Ameriku a setkal se s C.G. Taylorem, kter\u00fd poch\u00e1zel z Nottinghamu. Wykes byl s Taylorem v kontaktu je\u0161t\u011b p\u0159ed jeho emigrac\u00ed do Ameriky ve 20. letech 20. stolet\u00ed. Po z\u00edsk\u00e1n\u00ed licen\u010dn\u00edch pr\u00e1v na nov\u011bj\u0161\u00ed model B byla spole\u010dnost Taylorcraft Aeroplanes (England) Ltd, 21. listopadu 1938 zaregistrov\u00e1na jako soukrom\u00e1 spole\u010dnost s pr\u00e1vy na v\u00fdrobu i prodej pro Britsk\u00e9 imp\u00e9rium a Evropu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sou\u010d\u00e1st\u00ed licen\u010dn\u00ed smlouvy byl i zakoupeny a z Ameriky odesl\u00e1ny kompletn\u00ed p\u0159\u00edpravky na v\u00fdrobu sva\u0159ovan\u00e9ho trupu&nbsp; spolu s kompletn\u00ed sadou v\u00fdkres\u016f, technick\u00fdch informac\u00ed a rozpis\u016f materi\u00e1l\u016f. Tak\u00e9 byl zakoupen a do z\u00e1vodu v Thurmastonu dod\u00e1n kompletn\u00ed letoun Taylorcraft Model B.&nbsp; Prvn\u00ed letadlo vyroben\u00e9 v Britannia Works se od p\u016fvodn\u00edho americk\u00e9ho modelu B li\u0161ilo pou\u017eit\u00edm siln\u011bj\u0161\u00edch britsk\u00fdch standardn\u00edch trubek a v\u011bt\u0161\u00edch nosn\u00edk\u016f k\u0159\u00eddel a bylo ozna\u010deno jako Model Plus C. Pr\u00e1ce na prvn\u00edm letadle za\u010daly v \u00fanoru 1939. Prvn\u00ed let se uskute\u010dnil 3. kv\u011btna, pouh\u00fdch dev\u011bt t\u00fddn\u016f od zah\u00e1jen\u00ed v\u00fdroby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1012\" height=\"135\" src=\"http:\/\/www.auster.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/cropped-Logo-Talylorcraft-1.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.auster.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/cropped-Logo-Talylorcraft-1.webp 1012w, https:\/\/www.auster.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/cropped-Logo-Talylorcraft-1-300x40.webp 300w, https:\/\/www.auster.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/cropped-Logo-Talylorcraft-1-768x102.webp 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1012px) 100vw, 1012px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Prvn\u00ed letadla pro civiln\u00ed trh byla prod\u00e1v\u00e1na leteck\u00fdm klub\u016fm za 500 liber za kus, ale p\u0159esto se spole\u010dnost p\u0159ed vypuknut\u00edm v\u00e1lky ocitla ve finan\u010dn\u00edch pot\u00ed\u017e\u00edch. Jej\u00ed&nbsp; omezen\u00fd rodinn\u00fd kapit\u00e1l,&nbsp; byl vy\u010derp\u00e1n a vznikly v\u00e1\u017en\u00e9 probl\u00e9my s cash flow. P\u0159i zp\u011btn\u00e9m pohledu se zd\u00e1 nepravd\u011bpodobn\u00e9, \u017ee by v\u00fdroba mohla pokra\u010dovat, neb\u00fdt vypuknut\u00ed v\u00e1lky a n\u00e1sledn\u00fdch vojensk\u00fdch zak\u00e1zek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Po vypuknut\u00ed druh\u00e9 sv\u011btov\u00e9 v\u00e1lky bylo soukrom\u00e9 l\u00e9t\u00e1n\u00ed zak\u00e1z\u00e1no a spole\u010dnost Taylorcraft Aeroplanes (England) Limited prakticky stagnovala. Nicm\u00e9n\u011b, po vojensk\u00e9m z\u00e1jmu o Model Plus C, v roce 1939 do\u0161lo ke zm\u011bn\u011b na v\u00fdkonn\u011bj\u0161\u00ed britskou pohonnou jednotku, co\u017e vedlo k modelu Plus D, kter\u00fd nakonec vstoupil do slu\u017eby britsk\u00e9ho letectva jako Auster I. Krom\u011b toho byly z\u00edsk\u00e1ny subdod\u00e1vky od velk\u00fdch leteck\u00fdch firem na komponenty pro letouny Airspeed Oxford, Hurricane, Spitfire, Armstrong Whitworth Albemarle a Hawker Audax. Aby spole\u010dnost mohla zajistit v\u0161echny sv\u00e9 aktivity, p\u0159evzala leti\u0161t\u011b County Flying Group na Gaddesby lane v Rearsby, asi 8 km severov\u00fdchodn\u011b od Thurmastonu, kde byly postaveny hang\u00e1ry a provedeny dal\u0161\u00ed p\u0159\u00edstavby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ke konci druh\u00e9 sv\u011btov\u00e9 v\u00e1lky, \u0159editel Wykes p\u0159ipravoval pl\u00e1ny na prodej civiln\u00edch letoun\u016f Auster pro aktivn\u00ed l\u00e9t\u00e1n\u00ed v dob\u011b m\u00edru. Aby se uspokojila o\u010dek\u00e1van\u00e1 popt\u00e1vka, byla zah\u00e1jena opat\u0159en\u00ed k nalezen\u00ed distributor\u016f a z\u00e1stupc\u016f ve Velk\u00e9 Brit\u00e1nii i v zahrani\u010d\u00ed. Bohu\u017eel se jeho pl\u00e1ny nedo\u010dkaly napln\u011bn\u00ed, proto\u017ee 14. kv\u011btna 1944 zem\u0159el p\u0159i nehod\u011b s letounem Auster IV. To byla pro spole\u010dnost, kter\u00e1 se v\u017edy spol\u00e9hala na Wykesovo \u00fasil\u00ed a nad\u0161en\u00ed, t\u011b\u017ek\u00e1 r\u00e1na.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"350\" height=\"179\" src=\"http:\/\/www.auster.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/austerlogo.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-218\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.auster.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/austerlogo.png 350w, https:\/\/www.auster.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/austerlogo-300x153.png 300w, https:\/\/www.auster.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/austerlogo-348x179.png 348w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Po ukon\u010den\u00ed II. sv\u011btov\u00e9 v\u00e1lky pokra\u010dovala vojensk\u00e1 v\u00fdroba Modelu K a jeho cvi\u010dn\u00e9ho ekvivalentu Modelu Q, ale z\u00e1jem se nyn\u00ed vr\u00e1til k civiln\u00edmu trhu. Bylo rozhodnuto vyrobit dva letouny, jeden dvoum\u00edstn\u00fd a druh\u00fd t\u0159\u00edm\u00edstn\u00fd. Z\u00e1kladem t\u011bchto a t\u00e9m\u011b\u0159 ve\u0161ker\u00e9 pov\u00e1le\u010dn\u00e9 civiln\u00ed produkce spole\u010dnosti, po\u010d\u00ednaje t\u0159\u00edm\u00edstn\u00fdm Modelem J\/1 Autocrat z roku 1946 a dvoum\u00edstn\u00fdm J\/2, tvo\u0159il z\u00e1kladn\u00ed drak v\u00e1le\u010dn\u00e9ho pozorovac\u00edho letounu Auster V.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Po skon\u010den\u00ed licen\u010dn\u00ed smlouvy se spole\u010dnost\u00ed Taylorcraft of America po v\u00e1lce byl n\u00e1zev spole\u010dnosti 8. b\u0159ezna 1946 zm\u011bn\u011bn na Auster Aircraft Limited. V\u00fdroba v Rearsby, kde se od roku 1947 soust\u0159edila jak konstrukce, tak v\u00fdroba civiln\u00edch i vojensk\u00fdch letadel, pokra\u010dovala. B\u011bhem n\u00e1sleduj\u00edc\u00edch 13 let se prakticky ve\u0161ker\u00e1 produkce spole\u010dnosti Auster to\u010dila kolem variant J\/1 a J\/5. Do v\u00fdroby se dostaly pouze dva dal\u0161\u00ed projekty, ne\u00fasp\u011b\u0161n\u00fd B.8 Agricola a n\u00e1hrada za AOP.6 &#8211; AOP.9.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"499\" src=\"https:\/\/www.auster.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Auster-taking-off.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.auster.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Auster-taking-off.webp 700w, https:\/\/www.auster.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Auster-taking-off-300x214.webp 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>V roce 1959, kdy v\u00fdroba letadel prob\u00edhala v omezen\u00e9m m\u011b\u0159\u00edtku, oslovila spole\u010dnost Auster portugalsk\u00e1 spole\u010dnost O.G.M.A. (Oficinas Gerais de Material Aeronautico), kter\u00e1 hledala lehk\u00e9 cvi\u010dn\u00e9\/komunika\u010dn\u00ed letadlo. Po\u017eadovan\u00e9 letadlo m\u011blo b\u00fdt dvoum\u00edstn\u00e9, ale s kapacitou a\u017e t\u0159\u00ed m\u00edst k sezen\u00ed, poh\u00e1n\u011bn\u00e9 motorem typu Lycoming. V\u00fdsledkem byla \u0159ada Auster D, dvoum\u00edstn\u00fd D.4, zalo\u017een\u00fd na J\/2 Arrow, a t\u0159\u00edm\u00edstn\u00fd D.5, zalo\u017een\u00fd na J\/1N, ale d\u016fkladn\u011b modernizovan\u00fd, s kovov\u00fdmi nosn\u00edky k\u0159\u00eddel a kovovou vrtul\u00ed&nbsp; nahrazuj\u00edc\u00ed standardn\u00ed d\u0159ev\u011bn\u00e9 vrtule Auster.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.auster.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/aaa1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"698\" height=\"653\" src=\"https:\/\/www.auster.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/aaa1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-239\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.auster.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/aaa1.png 698w, https:\/\/www.auster.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/aaa1-300x281.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 698px) 100vw, 698px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Po\u017eadavek spole\u010dnosti O.G.M.A. spo\u010d\u00edval v licenci na v\u00fdrobu v Portugalsku a bylo zapot\u0159eb\u00ed kompletn\u00edch v\u00fdrobn\u00edch podklad\u016f, v\u010detn\u011b v\u00fdkres\u016f n\u00e1stroj\u016f, p\u0159\u00edpravk\u016f a komponent\u016f, stejn\u011b jako specifikac\u00ed materi\u00e1l\u016f, v\u00fdrobn\u00edch provozn\u00edch detail\u016f a dal\u0161\u00edch pokyn\u016f. P\u016fvodn\u00ed smlouva, podepsan\u00e1 4. listopadu 1959, stanovila, \u017ee 20 kompletn\u00edch letadel, patn\u00e1ct D.5 a p\u011bt D.4, by m\u011bla postavit spole\u010dnost Auster, zat\u00edmco 150 m\u011blo b\u00fdt vyrobeno spole\u010dnost\u00ed O.G.M.A. v Portugalsku.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Zat\u00edmco v\u00fdroba pro zak\u00e1zku O.G.M.A. pokra\u010dovala, d\u011bly se mnohem v\u00fdznamn\u011bj\u0161\u00ed ud\u00e1losti. 7. \u0159\u00edjna 1960 spole\u010dnost p\u0159evzala spole\u010dnost Pressed Steel Company a stala se sou\u010d\u00e1st\u00ed British Executive and General Aircraft Limited (BEAGLE). Pobo\u010dka Rearsby se nyn\u00ed stala Beagle-Auster, p\u0159i\u010dem\u017e design a v\u00fdvoj Austeru pokra\u010dovaly v r\u00e1mci nov\u00e9ho korpor\u00e1tn\u00edho r\u00e1mce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mezi lety 1959 a 1962 Auster a Beagle-Auster odkoupily od ministerstva letectv\u00ed n\u011bkolik s\u00e9ri\u00ed letoun\u016f AOP Mk 6 a T.7, kter\u00e9 byly ur\u010deny k likvidaci. Tyto letouny byly p\u0159estav\u011bny na Auster 6A Tugmaster, kter\u00fd ale nedal spole\u010dnosti Beagle image, kterou hledala. Dal\u0161\u00edm pokusem toto zm\u011bnit byl model A.61 Terrier 1, co\u017e byla vylep\u0161en\u00e1 verze 6A Tugmaster, a nakonec se objevil Terrier 2.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"421\" src=\"https:\/\/www.auster.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/21lletendretaylorcrafta.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-221\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.auster.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/21lletendretaylorcrafta.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.auster.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/21lletendretaylorcrafta-300x211.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>V roce 1966 spole\u010dnost Pressed Steel Company p\u0159evzala British Motor Corporation a pozd\u011bji British Leyland. Jeliko\u017e do projektu Beagle ji\u017e bylo investov\u00e1no 5\u20136 milion\u016f liber, rozhodli se odstoupit a prodat sv\u00e9 pod\u00edly v leteck\u00e9m pr\u016fmyslu vl\u00e1d\u011b. Beagle m\u011bl v t\u00e9 dob\u011b t\u0159i konstruk\u010dn\u00ed t\u00fdmy; Beagle a Miles v Shorehamu a t\u00fdm Auster v Rearsby.&nbsp; Bylo z\u0159ejm\u00e9, \u017ee Beagle nem\u011bl kapacitu na to, aby se vypo\u0159\u00e1dal se v\u0161emi pl\u00e1novan\u00fdmi produkty, a\u0165 u\u017e z hlediska n\u00e1vrhu, v\u00fdvoje a v\u00fdzkumu, konstrukce nebo v\u00fdroby. Proto se ve\u0161ker\u00e9 \u00fasil\u00ed soust\u0159edilo pouze na projekty Beagle. Po tomto rozhodnut\u00ed byla jm\u00e9na Auster a Miles vymaz\u00e1na z n\u00e1zvu Beagle Aircraft a oba z\u00e1vody m\u011bly fungovat pod n\u00e1zvem Beagle Aircraft Limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>V roce 1968 do\u0161lo ke zm\u011bn\u011b v uspo\u0159\u00e1d\u00e1n\u00ed \u0159\u00edzen\u00ed Beagle. Bylo konstatov\u00e1no \u017ee m\u00edt dv\u011b z\u00e1kladny vzd\u00e1len\u00e9 150 mil od sebe je neekonomick\u00e9 a bylo zva\u017eov\u00e1no uzav\u0159en\u00ed Rearsby. Z\u00e1rove\u0148 bylo rozhodnuto o prodeji spole\u010dnosti Auster. O spole\u010dnost Auster projevilo z\u00e1jem n\u011bkolik spole\u010dnost\u00ed a nakonec spole\u010dnost Hants and Sussex Aviation (H and S), kter\u00e1 operovala z leti\u0161t\u011b v Portsmouthu, koupila Auster, v\u010detn\u011b sklad\u016f, v\u00fdkres\u016f, technick\u00fdch informac\u00ed a n\u00e1stroj\u016f, za \u010d\u00e1stku 35 000 liber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1720\" height=\"773\" src=\"https:\/\/www.auster.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/289b3fd1eea1c9cf74fff9dd88485cd4_1720x774_fit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-228\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.auster.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/289b3fd1eea1c9cf74fff9dd88485cd4_1720x774_fit.jpg 1720w, https:\/\/www.auster.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/289b3fd1eea1c9cf74fff9dd88485cd4_1720x774_fit-300x135.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.auster.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/289b3fd1eea1c9cf74fff9dd88485cd4_1720x774_fit-1024x460.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.auster.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/289b3fd1eea1c9cf74fff9dd88485cd4_1720x774_fit-768x345.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.auster.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/289b3fd1eea1c9cf74fff9dd88485cd4_1720x774_fit-1536x690.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1720px) 100vw, 1720px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>V roce 1971 p\u0159evzala spole\u010dnost H and S od spole\u010dnosti Rolls-Royce kompletn\u00ed podnik\u00e1n\u00ed v oblasti podpory motor\u016f Gipsy a bylo nutn\u00e9 naj\u00edt prostor pro jeho um\u00edst\u011bn\u00ed. Bylo rozhodnuto prodat sv\u00e9 pod\u00edly v Austeru spole\u010dnosti RF Saywell ze Shorehamu, kter\u00e1 se o Auster starala dal\u0161\u00ed t\u0159i roky. Pot\u00e9 spole\u010dnost prodala spole\u010dnosti Precision Engineering ze Systonu, kter\u00e1 ji n\u00e1sledn\u011b prodala CJ Bakerovi z Carr Farm v Thorney v Newarku v Nottinghamshire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Toto je kompletn\u00ed historie firmy Auster, p\u0159evzat\u00e1 a p\u0159elo\u017een\u00e1 ze skv\u011bl\u00fdch str\u00e1nek: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishaviation-ptp.com\">www.britishaviation-ptp.com<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nutno t\u00e9\u017e dodat, \u017ee posledn\u00ed vyroben\u00e9 letadlo bylo v roce 1967 byl typ Beagle Husky. Firma Auster se po v\u00e1lce zam\u011b\u0159ila hlavn\u011b na p\u0159estavby sv\u00fdch letoun\u016f dodan\u00fdch RAF.&nbsp; Konstrukce letoun\u016f Auster byla ale na konci pades\u00e1t\u00fdch let&nbsp; ji\u017e zastaral\u00e1. V\u011bt\u0161ina konkuren\u010dn\u00edch v\u00fdrobc\u016f zav\u00e1d\u011bla nov\u00e9 konstrukce, kter\u00e9 byly celokovov\u00e9, s t\u0159\u00edkolov\u00fdmi podvozky a poh\u00e1n\u011bn\u00e9 modern\u011bj\u0161\u00edmi motory. P\u0159estavby z vojensk\u00fdch odprodej\u016f byly pracn\u00e9. Nap\u0159\u00edklad u modelu Terrier se zjistilo, \u017ee na p\u0159estavbu ka\u017ed\u00e9ho letadla po jeho vojensk\u00e9m pou\u017eit\u00ed bylo vynalo\u017eeno v\u00edce pracovn\u00edch hodin ne\u017e na stavbu nov\u00e9ho letadla pro arm\u00e1du.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nicm\u00e9n\u011b, letoun\u016f Auster, a\u0165 ji\u017e pod n\u00e1zvem Taylorcraft, Auster, Beagle \u010di OGMA&nbsp; bylo vyrobeno celkem 3708. To je velmi \u00factyhodn\u00e9 \u010d\u00edslo!
